Simply fun July 3, 2007 L. Soucek (San Francisco, CA USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Let's be honest: Czech can be a difficult language to learn. However, this Czech Course for beginners makes it easy and entertaining. It is very interactive: your aim is to reach a certain score and the program rewards you with points every time you do something right. Try it: it is fun!
Pretty good--very basic January 28, 2007 Robert E. Cheney (Dallas, Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is definitely a beginner's only program. You aren't going to learn much in terms of conversation, but the setup of the program makes learning the vocabulary very easy.
Not a good learning tool. December 7, 2006 Andrea Lackman (Iowa, USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have begun to learn Czech starting with a Pimsluer CD program (which I highly reccomend). I bought this because I wanted a program where I could hear pronunciation while also seeing the words and hopefully improving my vocabualary. The program is divided up into different lessons such a colors, numbers, phrases, shopping, telling time, and food. Each lesson basically has a vocabulary list and then two short games in which you listen to a czech word and then pick out the right picture for it. Only one lesson has phrases in it and they are only the most basic and not something that I see of being enough to be of real help. Also, the lesson is just phrases, no real learning of more of the language or dealing in certain situations. I feel very dissapointed in this product and feel like the software was put together very quickly and just meant to make some money rather than being a program that is meant to help you learn. If you can find a very cheap copy it might be nice to have to learn some vocab words, but it is definitely not worth it for full price and will not help you to learn the language.
A good buy February 24, 2006 A language learner 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
Easy and fun program for beginners, especially for the price. I like the Eurotalk Talk Now! Learn Czech program much better than the Rosetta Stone French program I have (and I spent A LOT more on the latter). I find the Rosetta Stone programs more visually appealing, but I've learned a lot more with Talk Now!. Note: Czech words and phrases are vocalized by both a man and woman. To my ear, their pronounciations are different. I am not sure if these speakers come from different regions or what, but as a stickler for pronounciation, I was a little unsure whether to follow the pronounciation of the man or the woman.
Easy and fun way to learn Czech April 22, 2003 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
I found the Talk Now! Czech CD-ROM very helpful in learning some basic Czech words and phrases. It is a difficult language to learn and this program offers easy games and options to keep it fun and motivating. While it doesn't get into grammar and more complex Czech, it's a great start for anyone wanting to feel more at home in the Czech Republic!
