Product Description From photos and music to tax documents, Norton Ghost 10.0 automatically backs up and recovers everything on your computer. Reliable, efficient, and versatile, Norton Ghost optimizes backup space, works with a wide range of media devices, and brings back your entire system in a few short steps.
Amazon.com Product Description Backing up your system might seem like a hassle, but when you lose your important data right before a big meeting, event, or project due date, you'll wish you had. Norton Ghost 10.0 makes backing up so simple that you will no longer have to worry about it--it automatically backs up any and all data, including photos, music, tax documents, and more, making it ideal for home users, too. Norton Ghost 10.0 now automatically detects storage devices, analyzes your system, and offers the "best practice" backup advice during installation. The new one-step setup wizard makes installation and configuration even easier. It also automatically creates an initial backup schedule based on your computer's configuration. Plus, it will backup to virtually any media of your choice, including CDR/RW and DVD+-R/RW, USB and FireWire devices, Iomega Zip and Jaz drives, and more. A handful of new tools make customizing and monitoring backups even easier. Backups are triggered by key events like new program installations or user logings. The one button "Backup Now" feature lets you create new backups on demand. Monitoring backups is easier with a task-based interface, and all scheduled backups are displayed in one convenient view along with the degree of backup protection for each drive. New for those who have Maxtor external drives is a Maxtor OneTouch button that automatically begins backing up your drives. As always you can make incremental backups to help maximize space and save time, and you can make backups on the fly without restarting your computer. If something does go awry, it can recover system data even when you can't restart your operating system.

Norton Sucks !!! October 4, 2008 S. mcelroy (pa) Norton has given up on being a software company - their only goal now is to take as much money as possible from comsumers, as soon as the public takes notice they will change their name or sell out. After 2000 or so they moved their cust svc and other functions to India and EVERYTHING went to hell in a hand basket. People spend countless hours with software that totally sucks with support staff that has no idea and no experience. Their only trick is to keep escalating issues around the room until they wear you out and you give up.
Worked for a While October 28, 2007 Charles D. Pearson (Adrian, MI United States) A trial version of this came with my Dell laptop. It seemed to work so I bought a key. It worked for a while with the key but now it doesn't work at all. I will uninstall and do manual file backups.
Semantec does not have customer service September 21, 2007 Ghost hater Semantec (Norton Ghost) has no customer service. Avoid this product or get stuck in the black hole of no support. Their 800# is a endless cycle of music and then cuts you off, only so you have to call back to revisit the same nightmare.
don't work with vista August 12, 2007 arnold ford if you have xp ok, but if you have vista mite look for something that well work with it
Product performs as described. July 4, 2007 Kris E. Newport (Minnesota USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Could use microsoft approved hardware compatiblity listing, as an adapter or another PC is needed to connect and mirror to a new/replacement hard drive.
