Product Description With Rosetta Stone Greek Level 1, you have the same new language-instruction techniques at your disposal that the U.S. State Dept, the Peace Corps and NASA use! This powerful tool uses advanced multimedia tools to immerse you completely in Greek, as you experience the language just as a native-speaker would.

Not worth the money - honestly July 19, 2007 maria 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I actually purchased the Rosetta Stone Greek Levels I & II combo, but the Level I portion is the same as this item. Anyway, this program is awful! If you don't already know some Greek you are out of luck. There is no basic intro to Greek words, sounds, letters or anything. I understand the immersion aspect of learning a language, but this doesn't "immerse" you into anything even remotely Greek. You will learn ridiculous phrases like "the fish swims" and "the pink car is old". These are not practical phrases for real speaking in Greece. This product is expensive but in my opinion is not worth the money at all. You are better off getting a Greek phrasebook & memorizing it from cover to cover...

This is a cool system to learn a language--you never see English (that is, you never learn the word in English), so you have to figure it out on your own... just as if you were immersed in the culture. You have to sick with it to make it work, and it's best to combine this with other references (English to Greek, for example). It's not a quick reference guide, nor will get you there instantly, but it works.
